A group of people saw him after seeing my flyers. One girl managed to catch him. With KC Pet-Connect I was able to keep up with any found dogs. Also, through KC Pet-Connect I received many emails from people who were searching shelters on our behalf as well. The encouragement to follow the leads and keep putting up flyers was important. Oscar was lost for 12 days. I am so grateful he was returned to us..

Thanks for your website. I thought it was a long shot listing the stray I found and didn't do it at first. I just scoured the lost ad's looking for a match. I was also in the process of contacting a local rescue agency and was going to have the cat scanned for a microchip. It was then that I decided to go ahead and list the stay under "found". Lucky kitty !!!! I chose to list it with KC Pet-Connect because it had more lost and found pets than any other site. The owner also visited KC Pet-Connect and saw a description of her cat listed under "Found Cats." She contacted me within 2 days of my listing her cat. She gave me her info and described her lost cat. I emailed her some pic's I had taken. It was a match. They were quickly reunited. Everyone is happy. I can stop worrying. The End.

I found my pet with the help of Kelly Keaton who saw my posting on KC Pet-Connect and emailed me that she saw him at the Shelter.

I found my pet ! He came home on his own during the rain storm--his name Stormy is very appropriate. I did get e-mails from several people who thought they had found my cat on KC Pet-Connect. It is helpful to have others looking. I will watch for other lost animals in the future.

Just wanted to let you know that Floyd is home. I had went to the ESFOA event and had given Marilyn Hughes a flyer this afternoon and when I got home my mother and I were sitting on my front porch and I heard the clanking of his dog tags. Then around the corner here came Floyd. I don't know if he just found his way home or if someone had him and brought him back. All I know, is he is home. Thank you very much for your service. Even though I'm not sure whether the owner saw the website, I think it's the greatest thing going. I visited it constantly, hoping I would find a notice reported under "lost". I didn't. We received a call from a lady on the 28 of May saying she thought she knew who the owner was. I don't know if she visited the website or saw the notice in the KC Star. All I know is there are angels out there and the lost dogs are home again.

While Coal came back on her own, I did receive a phone call from the Prairie Village Animal Control about a stray they had picked up that matched Coal's description on KC Pet-Connect. Coal was found 24 hours later. The fact that others are viewing this sight only adds to the chances of finding a lost pet. I highly recommend this sight!

A very nice lady had picked her up during the big storm about a week ago and has been taking care of her. She saw a poster we had put up and gave us a call. Our family is thrilled to have her back!! I found my pet ! He'd run miles from home and someone picked him up and took good care of him until a friend spotted one of the hundreds of posters I'd put up and called me. He's happy and healthy! I found my pet ! He went into a woman's garage. My dog entered a woman's garage early this morning. The lady called a friend and the friend looked on-line at KC Pet-Connect and found my name and number.

I found my pet ! A sweet neighbor found her and saw my sign. She called me and was careful to have us describe our baby before allowing her to go to just anyone. KC Pet-Connect gave me hope that someone might see our plea and return our sweet baby. Patrick Peanut aka Murphy had been missing for several weeks. Through KC Pet-Connect , we were able to reunite him with his family today. He is 14 years old, blind and deaf, but boy did he give kisses and tail wags when he smelled his family. The lady who found the dog listed him twice on KC Pet-Connect , then surrendered the dog to us - LL Dog Rescue. With the recent storms, the family that lost the dog have been without internet service for several weeks. I have also attached the PHOTO of the reunion. I usually check all the internet sites so I can see if there is a match. This was a happy ending. Thanks for everything you do. This is the second dog I have gotten back home all because of KC Pet-Connect . The other was a Doxie that was lost at the Legends Shopping Center.

I received an email from someone at the Shelter he was at with a picture they had taken questioning if it was my "Joe" from the Lassie Alert they had received through KC Pet-Connect .

This dog turned up at my sister's house and she was able to get the vet's info off the collar and call. These people were unable to keep "Angel" so my sister, who lives on acreage offered to keep her. I did get a contact. Now I know KC Pet-Connect exists it will help in these situations in the future.

I found my pet ! My husband saw him run under the house next door. I put a bowl of tuna out where he saw him go under the house and I played stake-out until he finally came out and I could grab him. KC Pet-Connect wasn't a direct help in finding Casanova, but I was so thankful to have a website like this one to post his information on. Thank you KC Pet-Connect, especially Gene! Someone saw my KC Pet-Connect posting and told me to check shelter. The person that called me was very nice and concerned. I'm thankful she did, so I have back my "old" dog, He was so happy to see me when I found him, needless to say I'm very happy too.

I found my pet ! The person keeping our dog was told by her daughter to search the internet instead of the newspaper, so she found our report on KC Pet-Connect. Then she called us and we picked her up (now fat).

THANK YOU so much for the support, prayers and kind words. Our prayers indeed were answered today - Maddie was found!!! It is so comforting to know that there really are other dog lovers who understand what we were going through - and have taken the time to help search and provide tips and leads over the last few days. She really did have guardian angels watching over her! We will all rest in peace tonight! We decided to split up the reward money to those who contributed to returning her back home.

I found my pet because a neighbor found him up a tree and saw my post here on KC Pet-Connect.

I found my pet ! He was spotted by people who saw him listed on KC Pet-Connect . She called me that he was running down 63rd street. I trapped him under a deck and was able to crawl under and get him. Thanks to all who helped to look for him. He is now safe and warm. He is now safe! Thanks to all who helped!

Owner called KC Pet-Connect and I went to actual location that vet gave me and located someone that knew the dog and his owner who called KC Pet Connect who called me. A happy reunion was had by all.

People found Milo in their neighborhood and saw the ad here in KC Pet-Connect. Milo was gone for almost 2 weeks when we got a phone call from some girls who said "I think we have your cat." They had found him in their neighborhood which is about a mile from ours and were just about to post an ad in KC Pet Connect when they looked at the Lost Pets and there was his photo. We had just about given up hope that our Milo would be found!

Footnote: It was Cindy Dover who made the connection ! Cindy said "It was Milo's family for sure! My roommates and I met his mom and Milo is home as of now! We see many stray cat's in our neighborhood, we're going to start checking the KC Pet-Connect website weekly!

I am uncertain which site actually was viewed by Sheryl. She informed my husband via phone, that she had seen Harley on the lost pets, online. She took him in and protected him for us until she could find out who Harley belonged to. Once she saw the lost notification online, she called. He's now home safe and sound with the family, and Bain-big brother-couldn't be happier.

She was spotted running around our apartment complex by a few neighbors, After a few hours of searching we found her setting in the sun. We would of never found her without the help of KC Pet-Connect and our neighbors. Various neighbors stated that they had seen our listing on KC Pet-Connect and flyers. Thank you for spreading the word and helping us get her back. We are still a little sore at the apartment complex for letting her out in the first place.

The pet has been adopted. A KC Pet-Connect browser called to see if dog was up for adoption. They saw the posting and adopted him.

The The owner did come in and claim the dog. But, immediately after realizing that it was his dog, asked if I wanted him. I realized that this guy should not be responsible for any animal and accepted his offer. Ten minutes later a gentleman called that had watched the dog when he previously had gotten out. He said that if the owner was never found, he would like to adopt the dog. He had grown attached to the dog while it was with him for over a month. Also, he had to put down his pet dog of ten years last week because of illness. This whole situation worked out perfect for all concerned. Thank you KC Pet-Connect !

The last time I had a pet was about 38 years ago and I did not want anymore pets. Then Rocky came along and won our hearts and we had to have him. When he went out to use the restroom and did not return, our hearts were crushed. However, I found KC Pet-Connect through an internet web search and found the numbers and people that I needed to help me find and bring Rocky back home safe. I found him at Wayside Waifs shelter and we are all happy again. Thanks again!.

I found my pet ! She was found at Animal Haven. Animal Haven found Shiloh's picture posted on the KC Pet-Connect Web site and called me.

He tried to get into a church when it was raining and was taken home by some nice people (Kathy Connaughton) who listed him on here as well! Spencer was listed on the lost pets section of KC Pet-Connect and when I called Kathy who listed him and described him, he was a match. She said he had been trying to get into their church on Saturday when it was raining. He seemed to have wandered quite aways from home for a cat. She took him home and I was able to pick him up today. I am so thankful they took such great care of him while he was missing. .

I found my pet ! A family found her in their neighbor hood and looked on KC Pet-Connect to see if she had been reported missing and called our number and she was returned home this morning. The family that found her luckily knew about this site and looked to see if she was posted as lost. Without this site we may not have found her.

They saw the posting on KC Pet-Connect . They called me yesterday and said they had seen the report on your site. They are going to pick up the dog at SPAY AND NEUTER KC on Monday.

We were directed to KC Pet-Connect because our Molly was lost. The wonderful family who found her came to this site to report her found, and we were able to get her home today because of this site. Someone saw the flyer and realized it matched the description of a lost pet posted in KC Pet-Connect. This pet was brought into the vet clinic where I work at by one of our clients when she found him. She posted flyers in her area while we boarded the dog. Someone saw the flyer and realized it matched the description of a lost pet posted in KC Pet-Connect. They contacted the person who found the dog who immediately called the people who listed the dog. Not only was Mater reunited with his loving family, but they also scheduled an appointment with us to have him neutered.

We don't know where Orphy was for a week. He's not matted or dirty, so we think he was closed up somewhere. He obviously knows where he lives and came home as soon as he was able. KC Pet-Connect helped in that it gave us hope to have his listing here. And who knows? Someone may have had him trapped and let him go when they saw his listing or our posters or whatever. At any rate, he will always wear his collar and tag now, even though he lives in the house and is never supposed to be out. Thank you again for this service.

These two pets were found by Shelley Hanna who who placed a FOUND posting on KC Pet-Connect before turning them over to the KCMO Animal Control. The shelter saw the corresponding LOST posting placed by the owner on KC Pet-Connect and located and called them who picked up Max and Shadow at the shelter.

Buddy was found on the February 7th and taken to A Dog's Fun Playce by Amber Hays where they always check the KC Pet-Connect website postings. They called us immediately! A special thank you to everyone that helped reunite Buddy with his family!

Animal Haven mutually contact by myself and owners friend, so Animal Haven called owner. Would have found it if the owner had gone on line to KC Pet-Connect. I will tell my dog friends about this service!

Sadly, no one came forward about this cat. We took him to our vet to get him checked out to make sure he was healthy before introducing him to our current pets, and he was a complete gentleman. The vet confirmed that he was in very good health, but that the failure to neuter him when he was younger probably led to him wandering away from home. We decided that we'd put forth enough effort to find his owner (and its been over 2 weeks since we first saw him) - so we're going to keep him. He's currently asleep on my foot.

Otis was happily reunited with his grateful owner John! I was contacted immediately after he saw the found pet ad on KC Pet-Connect .

Thanks KC Pet-Connect. Virginia found my little runaway Holly. I live in the cul-de-sac on the North side of Southlake Park. I adopted her from Wayside Waifs just before Christmas and she is still teaching me all the ways she can come up with to escape. Yesterday’s is still a mystery to me. The owner called me last night after seeing my found dog posting here. KC Pet-Connect was the total reason the owner and precious dog were reunited.

The pet was returned to the Owner! Signs were posted in the neighborhood.. We listed this pet on KC Pet-Connect, with the vets in Blue Springs, the nearby school, animal control, and the animal shelter. Signs were posted by us today, and Mr. Dickerson called to identify and claim his beagle. It was a sweet dog, but we are glad he got to be reunited with the dog's family. If the owner would have checked on KC Pet-Connect , it would have helped him right away.

I had a call earlier from a lady a volunteer that checks to this WONDERFUL website, and told me that I should call this gentleman who had found a dog that resembled mine, And it turns out, IT WAS HER! I Just wanted to let you know that KC Pet-Connect is responsible for reuniting Sue, an English Setter, with the Blair family. Sue was at Loose Park today, running around scared to death, and she wouldn't come to any of us who were trying to catch her. So I came home and checked your web site to see if anyone had lost an English Setter and posted on your site, and sure enough they had. Her family came right away and it took about 8 people but we finally caught her. She'd just recently been adopted by her new family and had previously been a hunting dog and raised in a kennel and so she was quite shy-- when she got away from them on a walk the day before she just panicked. Thanks for allowing me to find Sue's family--- I hated thinking about the poor dog running scared and not being able to help. And I saw that you have a link to the Humane Society of Greater KC on your site too-- thank you! I serve on the board and we appreciate it. I found my pet! Family a block away had taken her in, they saw lost cat signs we had posted and called us. What a wonderful Christmas gift. Although we did not find our kitty through KC Pet-Connect , we had several very nice people call us after finding cats that matched Cissy's description.

I FOUND MY PETS ! Bandit and Lulu! A man saw our poster that we printed from your site KC Pet-Connect and called and gave us the information as to who had our dogs! Thank you so much for helping us get our babies home!!

I found my pet thanks to this website ! My vet told me to post the dogs on this website KC Pet-Connect . The person who picked them up the morning they got out got online and found them on this site. I can't thank her enough for keeping them safe from harm and tracking me down. My children were so happy to have BOTH our dogs back!!

I had hung up flyers all over and when my cat showed up on a neighbor's doorstep they called and had me come get her! SO HAPPY!!! KC Pet-Connect allowed me to continue to look for my cat when I was stuck at work and unable to drive around looking. I found my pet Thanks to Swanson's Dog Park/Daycare & Lynette the groomer ! When they input our phone # off his collar, KC Pet-Connect and the Lassie Alert came up on their computer. They had all our numbers & called us immediately - they called all 3 numbers until they reached someone! Thank you Swanson's Dog Park & Daycare, KC Pet-Connect & Lassie Alert ! Thanks to Swanson's Dog Park/Daycare & Lynette the groomer - Doc was hit by a car in front of their center a week ago. They kept looking for Doc all week & finally found him today!

The Lost Dog Kit (which we downloaded from KC Pet-Connect ) was a life saver! By smothering the neighborhood in posters, we were able to determine that he was staying in the same area. This was important because we had just moved from out of state. He hadn't been here two hours when Joey got lost. People would call us if they had seen him thanks to all the posters. This let us know what area to focus our daily searches on. It took a week and a half of hard searching, but Joey is home again!

I cannot begin to describe the outpouring of support today from people I know and strangers too, all with the kindest of hearts. I sent out an appeal for help (including a Lassie Alert) through KC Pet-Connect and people all over the city began emailing me wanting to know which way our missing dog went so they could look for him on their lunch break. People forwarded emails, offered suggestions, talked to neighbors and postal workers in the neighborhood. All this really restored my sense of humanity in a time when the TV is nothing but atrocities against humans and animals.

REUNITED AFTER 6 MONTHS AWAY FROM HOME.
Snowy's return was miraculous. Someone had seen the listing on KC Pet-Connect and noticed a dog at a residence that looked like the picture. She contacted the Owner who confirmed it and then contacted the police and were able to get the dog back. The person who had Snowy said someone had given them the dog and then changed their story. Snowy went straight to his bed when he got home.

I was very pleased to get the phone call that I had Jeannie's Shasha! When she saw Shasha's picture on KC Pet-Connect she knew right away that Shasha was safe and sound. Another success story thanks to KC Pet-Connect . I hope I never have to use this website again but I will recommend it to ANYONE with a lost or found animal. THANKS, KC PET-CONNECT.COM !

Our Cat BG was missing for 4 months we all thought she had been killed but the other day we got a call from a family who said they had a cat under their porch and said it matched the description on a lost cat sign so we went over there and there she was under their porch! we were so happy and amazed and you can tell she's happy to be home! Don't give up if you have a lost pet, anything can happen.

There are two things I would like to share about successfully getting my dog back. First, a very kind and honest young lady took it upon herself to save my dog from being in a very busy highway. Second, there is KC Pet-Connect that provided this young woman to post my dog's information. The dog was lost on 7/11, the Found report was posted on 7/13, I posted the Lost report on 7/15 and the dog came home on 7/16. Many thanks to the honest and kind lady, and to KC Pet-Connect !

Searching Petfinder, I came across a picture of “Barney” in Indiana. Barney sure looked a lot like my Tyson! I emailed and called the rescue group telling them my story. Lisa (the rescuer) tried calling him by his name – he responded! I personally wanted more proof. I told Lisa that when Tyson was a pup he was run over by a truck and had broken some bones (I did not indicate what bones were broken), so if she could get him back to the vet for X-rays of his front half, we could determine if this was him. On Friday the 13th @ 2:15pm I received a phone call from my veterinarian. He said that he just got off the phone with Dr. Boone in Indiana and has confirmed that the “Barney” they have is actually my Tyson ! Lisa agreed to meet me half way to deliver Tyson back to us– and we set off to go get him at 5am this morning. We arrived at our meeting spot at 11:00am where Lisa and Tyson were waiting for us. I got the BIGGEST SLOPPIEST KISSES I’ve ever had!!!! Thank you all for putting up with my nagging CL posts and keeping my spirits up that he would someday come home. I do not think that I would have gotten trough all of this without nice people like you on my side! We are truly blessed today!

I put up an ad for a lab mix, and got no response. We were thinking about the possibilities of her breed, we decided she may be mixed with greyhound...she is. They were putting in their ad, saw my second add and thought, it can't be her, it's too far away. It was her. She was so frightened by all the fireworks, she just kept on running. They e-mailed me, and we got Mariah back home. I refused a reward, and they put a gift card for Applebee's in my mail box. All is well, that ends well. Your site is great. We were so distraught! Our other dog was depressed. The kids were upset and we were sad too. Leo got loose and was gone! We got two calls a few days ago and they had us come to their neighborhood and we saw their flyers. The dog looked just like Leo but was a female. Her owner called them and she was claimed. After a week and a half, we were really thinking we would never see him again! We had made huge posters and posted them all over the place. We called and visited every vet around here. We registered him with KC Pet-Connect and with the The Lost Dog Registry. We placed an ad in our local paper. We went to the KC animal shelter (depressing) and others. We were just pulling in to make flyers when we received the call! We are thrilled and Leo is too! We love him and are so thankful for KC Pet-Connect. Never give up! Leo missed his neutering appointment today but he did not escape it AND now my husband MUST put the privacy fence I have been wanting up!!! :)

Bonnie disappeared almost a year ago, so when we discovered her living just a block away, we were shocked. She slipped out of the house last July less than a month after we relocated from Columbia, MO to Kansas City, so she had no idea where she was. Bonnie was also strictly an indoor cat, so we were understandably worried about her "survival skills." We assumed after a while that Bonnie had passed away, but we spotted a cat that looked just like her on two separate occasions. We finally went to the home where we saw her and discovered that the owners had been feeding her and letting her come indoors over the winter. They even built her a little doghouse to seek refuge in! The homeowners were about to move to Belton, so our timing could not have been better. Bonnie recognized us and came right up to us for loving (something not common for our very shy cat to do with strangers). We used our posting on KC Pet Connect to verify that we were, in fact, the owners of Bonnie and to verify that the cat was actually Bonnie. Bonnie's "adopted" family took very good care of her and they were thrilled to reunite her with her owners. They still visit her sometimes. We just cannot believe that we found Bonnie almost a year after she disappeared! Even though KC Pet Connect did not directly reunite us, it made us feel a lot more hopeful knowing that her information was out there. We actually received a few phone calls from people who thought they had Bonnie, so it gave us even more hope because we knew people were checking your site. Thanks!

I did not find the owner of this kitty, now named Smokey, and adopted by our family. He may have been abandoned in the park behind my home. KC Pet-Connect helped me in so many ways to feel like I had done everything possible to make information about this kitty available for a family that could have been looking for him. I posted a found listing. I searched the lost listings ever day for nearly 3 weeks. I used the links page to call the appropriate animal control offices, shelters, and vets offices. I received calls from multiple people about their missing cats, and even though none were a match, we all talked about how thankful we were for a site like KC Pet-Connect . This website is doing a huge service to the animal loving community and I commend you for your work.

I would like to think that KC Pet-Connect played a role in bringing our cat Pricilla home. Though we may never really know I do know that it rained and stormed the entire week Pricilla was lost. But there she was standing in our driveway at 4AM the Saturday following Saturday she went missing. Not a spot of dirt on her white coat and no signs she had been out on her own. Perhaps someone took care of her thinking she was a stray. Perhaps that person saw her LOST PET listing on KC Pet-Connect and let her out to find her way home. Or maybe she was dropped off here. A lot of people including Animal Control use the KC Pet-Connect web site and that helped me by getting calls and more options on finding Sampson. He was stolen per the family who claims that someone sold him to them for $50.00. After showing a picture of Sampson the father gave me my dog back.

A neighbor was nice enough to keep my puppy overnight after he followed them home. She checked the KC Pet Connect lost listings and called me the next morning after I had posted his lost report. Thank you!!

KC Pet Connect gave some wonderful advice on ways to find my pet. After handing out flyers I received numerous calls from concerned people in my neighborhood, I'm very thankful. For those still missing a beloved pet, Don't Give Up! My cat survived 2 snow storms and temps below 0 for a week, he has lost a lot of weight but is otherwise fine. After weather like this and him already sick I feared the worst. Just keep searching and don't lose hope.

Found and picked up in the Walgreen parking lot by a good family. They called the shelter and who called them back thinking they new who the owner was and to check KC Pet Connect for the posting.

When the rescue group picked him up at the shelter he was due to be put to sleep that day. They took him back and looked on your web site. When they saw his picture they called us, scanned his chip, and we picked him up within an hour. Thank you.

Even though my dog came home on his own, while I was waiting and checking the pound I knew I had notified hundreds of concerned pet owner in the area (through KCPC) who would look out for me and my dog.

Sarge was found in the West Bottoms and taken home with a kind person who found his picture on Pet Connect and called me. They were so kind to put a new collar and leash on him since his was missing. He even got to have cheeseburgers for lunch :) I'm so thankful for the people that cared for him and helped him make it home safely. They are truly a blessing from God.

You posted a lost dog report for me today & a Lassie Alert. I'm happy to report that Hunter was found and is safely back home. And it sounds like the people who found him were able to contact me through the listing. Count us as another success story (for KC Pet-Connect).

I was able to find the pet's owner through my vet - they scanned him and tracked the owner through the chip. The owner said he checked this website, but my report hadn't yet been listed. I do love the idea of the site. I'm an animal lover and have a house full of pets but had not heard of the site until I contacted my local police station to see if anyone had reported the dog missing. While KC Pet-Connect wasn't of direct help, but this story is worth sharing . My eldest daughter goes to Maple Wood Community College where the veterinary takes in stray animals. She walked past a flyer featuring some pets, and recognized ours. We left an email describing her and the next morning, the call came that our dog that has been missing for three months had been living within 10 miles of our house. I called the kids and herded them up to go pick up the long-missed pooch, and they happily came home wielding treat and bone, and yes, the beloved escapee. She acts like she never left! We found her the day before Thanksgiving!

Your service is a great resource to someone who is grieving a lost pet and does not know what to do to find them. We found our dog Ivan by working closely with the Olathe Animal Shelter and they were fantastic. Your tips under what to do were very helpful. We found Ivan by asking questions and going to the shelter repeatedly a couple of times a day. Ivan was not in the kennels, but we asked about any reports of a German Shepherd in the area and they had one! They were unable to catch him, but the animal control officer offered to let us follow them out to the place of the last sighting, and he was there, it was our dog! I found KC Pet- Connect through Google, and I am so very glad that I did. Through this web site, I was given the opportunity to list my dog, which gave me a little more comfort. I was also, through this sites links, able to access phone numbers for all of the animal control locations in the greater Kansas City area. I had tried in the 4 phone books I have, under the animal control section, to locate these phone numbers and was unable to do so. With this list, I was able to call the different locations in my area and I FOUND MY BABY!!!! He has been gone for 4 days, but now I am getting ready to go get him! The couple who found Bella contacted us through KC Pet-Connect website by way of the Animal Haven Shelter, who had Bella's information from her "Lassie Alert". The system works and now our dog is back home with us! Our dog was micro-chipped with collar and id tags, but having her in this web-based search made the difference.

Although our cat turned out to be safely hidden in our house for over 48 hours I feel Pet-Connect was helpful to me emotionally. It gave me a degree of peace of mind to know others were watching for her. My other housecat, Pooka, is a Pets4Life therapy animal who visits patients twice monthly. He is also diabetic, has a heart condition, hyperthyroidism and is 15 years old. He is on a special diet, insulin injections and medications. Until Cupid vanished I don't believe our family ever appreciated the bond between these two cats. She is very shy and timid while he is outgoing. But she regularly grooms him and they are close companions. We expect her to outlive him but this incident has made us see this is never a certainty and we shouldn't take her presence for granted. Your suggestions for things a person can do to help successfully regain their pet are invaluable. Instead of helpless panic you provide action we can involve ourselves in. Zena was not found as a result of my listing on KC Pet-Connect, however, the peace of mind that comes with having an option like this is priceless. I checked several times a day and seeing fur babies reunited with their families was a great boost to my attitude. My dogs were picked up by Prairie Village Animal Control less than 48 hours after they left my yard. Someone took them far away and removed their tags. They were found much farther from home than they could have walked. The drop site for PV Animal Control did not check your web site at all. This is very sad. I would like to help get the word out about your web site. They found me through my ad in the Johnson County Sun which did not come out until last Thursday afternoon, and they saw my ad on Saturday. If they had been checking your web site I would have found them much sooner. If you have a flyer that states, "Lost Or Found Pets Please Check KC Pet Connect" etc, I would be glad to take these flyers to the local shelters, and the local vet offices. If you would email the flyer to me I will print and distribute. Your web site is fabulous and would be a great asset to the community if it were used by ALL of the local shelters. It would be much faster/less work than feeding and taking care of dogs daily.

GREAT NEWS!!!! - Sweet, gentle Patches suddenly reappeared! I had let our big cat "Cowboy II" out very early in the morning, and when I got up a couple hours later I opened the back door to let him in and saw a blur wisk past him into the kitchen. I just stood there blinking for a moment because I couldn't believe my eyes - there was Patches!!! She took a quick tour of the house (to see if it really was the right place?) and then ran back to the kitchen for some food.

I think she must have been trapped in someone's house while they went on vacation or something for over a week. She was fairly clean, not real thirsty (so she must have had access to water), but very very hungry. I've been thanking our Lord for bringing her home safely.

- I posted a found cat on 1/15/06 (F1844). Last week I got a call from a woman who said it was her cat. After several phone conversations and emailing some photos, we determined it is indeed her cat. His name is Felix, they'd had him since he was kitten, and he will be celebrating his 15th birthday soon. He had apparently escaped in early December near 143rd and Pflumm, and they never found him. They called Olathe Animal Control, but since they were technically in Overland Park, Olathe couldn't help them. I had called the Olathe Animal Control to inform them that I'd found the cat, but not Overland Park. The only other place I contacted was the KC Pet Connect web site. When I first found him he was nothing more than a skeleton with some skin and fur draped over him. He barely protested as I picked him up and took him to the animal hospital where I work. There was no collar or microchip. In his cage at the hospital, he was un-handleable--hissing, swatting, trying to bite.
Blood work revealed that he was extremely hyperthyroid, which explained his grumpiness and urinating outside his litter box. Some weeks had passed since I found him, so I turned to some of my cat rescue friends who offered to pay for radiation iodine treatment, which cured him of his hyperthyroidism (about a $1000 treatment!!). He was then placed in a very caring foster home and nursed back to health. He was going to be available for adoption, but then we got a call from the former owner who found his picture on KC Pet-Connect.
This is one LUCKY cat. I'm convinced he was only a day or two away from crawling under a bush to die. Instead of dying a slow death alone, he has received advanced medical attention and TLC, and he is practically a new cat. He loves attention, uses his litter box, and has put on weight. Soon, he will be reunited with the family he has known for the last 15 years, thanks only to KC Pet-Connect. I am so impressed and very excited about the outcome.

- Pete's back home! I had a call from Overland Park Animal Control from the Lassie Alert. They had found a run over cat on the same day I reported my cat missing. The cat was found near my home and the cat matched Pete's description. It turned out that the cat they had removed was not Pete but I so appreciated their efforts in helping me locate Pete. They gave me helpful suggestions in continuing my search which did ultimately result in finding Pete.

- The dog Noodles has been identified. She is now at Animal Haven in Merriam and the people who are watching the dog are in contact with them and the Merriam Animal Control officer to release her back to their custody. The sister of the person who was watching the dog found our ad on this KC Pet-Connect website.

- Theresa, I believe the KC Pet-Connect program is a great idea, and would happy to tell anyone so. Blue’s story is not the success we had hoped for. But, it does show us that the different steps pet recovery are dependent on each other. Falling down on a step will jeopardize chances for a successful outcome. We would not have found Blue without KC Pet-Connect. We appreciate your help. But it was a bittersweet experience for us. Blue died a few days after we recovered him. The Intensive Care Unit at Mission MedVet did all they possibly could for Blue, but they could not save him. Starvation, dehydration and infections had caused Blue to lose over half his body weight and also caused irreversible organ damage. All we could do was ease his suffering and comfort him at the end.
